Founded in 1989 and based in Manchester, NH, FIRST is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity designed to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology, and to motivate them to pursue education and career opportunities in STEM fields.

The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting Mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

Over 400k students world-wide are involved with participation growing rapidly every year. BWI Group in 2015 helped sponsor the S.C.O.T.S Bots Robotics Team out of Howell, MI, a local chapter near one of its tech centers in Brighton, MI. BWI Group sponsorship helped support purchase of build supplies and logistical needs culminating in a successful 2015 season of competition and learning for the engineers of tomorrow.
