LIDIA JAZOWSKA, Product Engineer in Technology Development Department

QUESTION: How did your career progress at BWI Group?

Lidia: First time I heard about BWI Group was during my third year of studies. A friend of mine was currently participating in the internship program in BWI. His experience was very positive, so he encouraged me to also sign in. That’s how I joined the organization 6 years ago and I am still working here today holding a position of product engineer in Technology Development Department.

Q: How did you grow as an engineer over the last 6 years?

Lidia: With BWI Group I turned academic theory into an industry practice, at first place. Being the part Technology Development Department I was explained and taught how shock absorbers are complex and demanding products in terms of the design and production process.  I owe that my senior colleagues; they turned out to be knowledgeable guides in the “suspension world”. In recent years, I have not only improved my technical skills, but also learned to effectively deal with professional challenges. Working in an international team has also had a huge impact on the progress of my interpersonal and communication skills. As a student, at the beginning of my professional career, I could not even imagine that I would provide new technologies for global brands in the automotive market.

Q: What is what you would call your best professional experience?

Lidia: Seeing the project come to life and having positive feedback from our customers is always incredibly rewarding. I would, therefore, call it the best professional experience I had.

Q. What would you call the most important lesson you learnt?

Lidia:  Team collaboration has an incredible power! Many times, we faced really challenging projects, approaching some issues we did not feel confident with or expertise enough. There were so many unknown… But then we integrated individual efforts into collective endeavours and turned those first uncertainties into a shared sense of purpose and goal achieved.

Q: The best advice you got from more experienced colleagues?

Lidia: Take Small Steps Everyday and One Day You Will Get There. Today, basing on my own experience, I can confirm that patience is crucial factor for innovation.

Q: The best advice you would give to the less experienced colleagues?

Lidia: When working with experts observe, ask questions, learn. Experts support will increase your confidence and let you grow; both personal and professional.

Q: What attracts you to work in the automotive industry?

Lidia: Automotive is a giant industry and has a great impact on people globally. It provides excitement, arouse interest and impact millions of people worldwide. For some, it’s the proud of being part of a field that’s so deeply ingrained in society and human progress, constantly pushing boundaries in design, engineering, and efficiency. Automotive challenges me every single day.

Q: What do you like the most about working at BWI Group?

Lidia: Firstly, I like dynamically to cooperate with my fellow colleagues, exchanges ideas, finding solutions, trying new approaches. It’s a fantastic feeling being around open-minded and inventive people.  And so friendly-acting ones, foremost. BWI Group is all about the teamwork and authentic support towards being innovative and successful.
