Antilock Brake Systems

359 - ABS - Product Picture

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Antilock Brake Systems (ABS) have been a key safety feature on vehicles since the 1980s. Monitoring wheel speed inputs, the system senses when the driver brakes harder than the road conditions support. Individual wheel brake pressures are regulated by the ABS modulator and electronics to improve vehicle stability and steerability while minimizing stopping distances.

PRODUCT TECHNOLOGY

Additional features include:

  • Dynamic Rear Proportioning (DRP) electronically adjusts rear brake pressures to maintain front-to-rear brake balance. This eliminates the need for proportioning valves.
  • Corner Brake Distribution (CBD) regulates brake balance and enhances stability while braking and steering.
  • Engine Traction System (ETS) monitors driven wheel speeds for signs of wheel spin and communicates engine torque adjustments to improve launch and acceleration on slippery road surfaces.

PRODUCT APPLICATIONS

ABS is available for a wide range of passenger vehicles, from small cars to trucks and SUVs.
