Description
In a passive damper suspension system, the vehicle behavior is always a compromise between low or “soft” damping levels for cruising comfort and high or “firm” damping levels for control of large motions. With BWI Group’s Manual Selectable Ride System (MSR), the driver can manually choose between “soft” and “firm” settings to optimize the vehicle response for the independent driving conditions. The Manual Selectable Damping System is a low cost, high value, two position damping system controlled manually with a 2-position switch. This system is ideal for vehicle platforms that desire sport and comfort settings or SUV and truck platforms that experience variable
Technology
The Manual Selectable Ride System is made up of 4 monotube based shocks each with an integral solenoid valve. MSR dampers provide 2 independently tuneable settings that can be utilized as desired by the vehicle manufacturer. The integral solenoid valve is controlled only by the vehicle driver through a 2 position manual switch and does not include sensors or electronic control unit. The system is available in 46mm diameter dampers that insure high force output and no loss of performance due to lag or fade.
